Coastal Bedroom Decor
The atmosphere in our Montauk home is bright, airy, and coastal…which is why you see a lot of bright whites and calming blues in this bedroom. The salty air is so rejuvenating here and I wanted to recreate those same vibes inside…so I used a few subtle shades of white on the walls, ceiling, and furniture, combined with cooler hues of blue and gray. Working within these few colors, but experimenting with shading, gives this room a cohesive feel that’s equal parts fresh and cozy.

Incorporating different textures is so important when creating depth in a space…you can see it in the paneled and vaulted ceiling, the rustic wicker decorative basket, and the gorgeous patterned Otomí pillows I picked up on our last trip to Mexico. I added an organic aspect with the wooden nightstand and potted cactus in the corner. Including indoor plants brings in a naturally beautiful dimension. And this cactus is incredibly easy to keep alive!
You have to zoom in on my beautiful Otomí pillows…it took me so long to find this gorgeous print in white on white. We went to five different markets!
