Our Babymoon at Hotel Bel-Air

Patrick and I decided to get away and enjoy one last trip as a party of two before Baby M arrives and it was the perfect weekend! We stayed at the iconic Hotel Bel-Air, just under an hour away from our new house.

A hidden sanctuary amongst the wooded hills, untouched by the clamour of life beyond the gates of Bel-Air. The most quintessentially private and exclusive hotel, delivering low-key elegance since 1946.

Known as the sanctuary where celebrities can hide away from the chatter of Hollywood, our suites hold illustrious histories within their walls. When staying at Hotel Bel-Air you are following in the footsteps of Grace Kelly, Cary Grant and Marilyn Monroe and joining the current stars and style-makers at their favourite hotel.”

Fun facts about the hotel…

  • Alphonzo Bell, an entrepreneurial businessman and wealthy oil tycoon, bought 600 acres of land to the west of Los Angeles. He named the area ‘Bel-Air’ and created an exclusive neighborhood. Later, he sold a portion of the land to a developer who created the hotel.

  • Grace Kelly was a guest at Hotel Bel-Air. Later a suite was named The Grace Kelly suite after Kelly had chosen the suite for her post-Oscar photo shoot.

  • Marilyn Monroe lived at the hotel on and off for ten years. She also had her final photo shoot in one of the suites.

  • Elizabeth Taylor had one of her weddings on the property.

It had all the Old Hollywood glamour I was hoping for, like a throwback to the golden era. We spent our days relaxing, lounging by the pool, enjoying the sunshine, and indulging in delicious food; after all, what Baby M wants, Baby M gets!

Patrick and I also enjoyed a private Baby Shower for two…complete with an incredible sprinkle cake from Susie’s Cakes.

For our Baby Shower, I chose this beautiful linen maxi dress from Fanm Mon in light pink. It was comfortable, feminine, and I fell in love with all of the details: the embroidery, the ruffles on the sleeves, and the buttons on the back. I kept the look simple, pairing the dress with flat Hermes sandals and a few of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I truly felt like a Princess.
